DARE joins a $33M portfolio of water research projects funded by Schmidt Sciences.
As of March 2026, The Dynamic Atlas of Riverine Ecosystems and Infrastructure (DARE) Project has been awarded a $5M grant by Schmidt Sciences to contribute to accounting the planet’s freshwater resources. One of four Projects in Schmidt Science’s Virtual Institute for Earth’s Water (VIEW) portfolio, DARE seeks to create a robust historical account of how human infrastructure has impacted waterways in the last 75 years.
